Kyosho TF110 Steering Post TF-5 Stallion

This is the steering post for the Kyosho TF-5 Stallion touring car.

The steering posts are the vertical pivots that the steering bellcranks rotate around. Every steering input the servo makes passes through them, and on a touring car that is a constant workload because the car is steering almost all of the time on a circuit.

When a post wears, the bellcranks develop play, and play here is the worst kind because it sits between the servo and both front wheels. The car stops returning to the same centre point, steering feels imprecise just off centre, and no amount of trim adjustment fixes it because the slop is mechanical rather than electronic. On a touring car, where precision on turn-in is most of what makes a car fast, that is a real performance loss rather than just an annoyance.

Because the wear is gradual, this is a commonly missed cause of vague steering on a well-used car and worth checking before assuming a servo problem.

Kyosho lists it as a standard part for the TF-5 Stallion specifically. Note that Kyosho's own catalogue misspells this part in two different ways, so it can be hard to find by name.
