Kyosho SC213 Motor Plate Scorpion 2014

Kyosho SC213 is the motor plate for the Scorpion 2014. The motor bolts to this plate, and the plate is what sets the motor's position relative to the spur gear — so it is what holds your gear mesh.

A motor plate that has been bent in a crash, or whose slots have worn oval from repeated mesh adjustments, will let the motor creep under load. That shows up as gear noise that changes through a run and, if it is left long enough, a stripped spur.

It is also a heat path: the motor dumps heat into the plate, so a plate that is cracked or poorly seated makes a hot motor hotter. Kyosho lists it for the Scorpion 2014, and the Beetle 2014, Tomahawk and Turbo Scorpion share the same chassis. A revised SC213B also exists.
