Designed for 1/10 and 1/8-scale motor-cooling applications, this powerful 40mm fan provides strong airflow across the motor can to help reduce heat buildup during racing, aggressive bashing, speed runs, repeated acceleration, and extended driving sessions.

High-powered brushless motors can generate substantial heat when used with aggressive gearing, heavy vehicles, high-voltage batteries, or demanding terrain. Adding a dedicated motor fan can improve airflow around the motor and help it maintain more consistent operating temperatures under load.

The fan features a durable aluminum cover that helps protect the blades from light debris and accidental contact while adding a clean, upgraded appearance. Its ball-bearing construction provides smooth operation and is well suited for demanding RC use.

The included power adapter allows the fan to be connected to a compatible 3S LiPo battery and includes an integrated on/off switch for convenient control. The fan can also operate from another compatible regulated power source between 6V and 11.1V.

A motor mount is required for installation and is sold separately. PowerHobby offers compatible mounts for several common motor-diameter ranges, allowing this fan to be used with many 1/10, 1/8, and large-format RC motor systems.

Vehicle compatibility depends on the selected motor mount, motor diameter, chassis layout, and available clearance. Measure the outside diameter of the motor can before selecting a mount.

Also confirm that the chassis has enough room for the 40 × 40 × 28mm fan, motor mount, wiring, battery, body, and surrounding electronics.

Installation Notes

Disconnect the vehicle battery before installing or servicing the cooling fan. Select the correct separately available mount for the outside diameter of your motor and secure the mount around a clean, unobstructed section of the motor can.

Attach the fan securely and position it so airflow is directed across the motor. Confirm that the fan blades rotate freely and that the housing does not contact the motor wires, chassis brace, body, battery tray, or other components.

Route all wiring away from the motor shaft, pinion gear, spur gear, driveshafts, suspension components, and other moving parts. Secure loose wiring with clips or cable ties before operating the vehicle.

The included adapter allows the fan to be powered by a compatible 3S LiPo battery. Use the integrated switch to turn the fan on or off. Verify connector compatibility and polarity before connecting the battery.

Do not operate the fan above 11.1V. When using another receiver, BEC, or auxiliary power connection, confirm that it supplies between 6V and 11.1V and can provide sufficient current for the fan.
