Kyosho SX053 Side Guard Set Scorpion XXL

This is the side guard set for the Kyosho Scorpion XXL.

Side guards run along the outside of the chassis between the front and rear wheels, and on a buggy with an exposed cage rather than an enclosed body they do real work. They shield the chassis, links and electronics from the rocks and dirt the front tires throw back, and they take the contact when the car slides into an obstacle sideways rather than letting it reach the chassis rails.

They are consumable by design. A guard that has cracked, torn away at its mounting tabs or gone brittle with age stops protecting anything and simply adds weight. Replacing a set that is past its best is one of the cheaper ways to keep the expensive parts behind it intact.

This is the genuine Kyosho set, cut and drilled to match the original mounting points so it fits without trimming. Supplied as a set covering both sides of the car. Note this fits the 1/7 scale Scorpion XXL, not the smaller vintage Scorpion or Turbo Scorpion.
