PowerHobby Aluminum Motor Heatsink with Cooling Fan for 1/8-Scale Motors – Silver
Description
Help keep your 1/8-scale RC motor running cooler with the PowerHobby Aluminum Motor Heatsink and Cooling Fan. This cooling upgrade combines a clip-on aluminum heatsink with an integrated fan to improve airflow around the motor can and help remove heat during extended or demanding use.
The aluminum heatsink features multiple cooling fins that increase the available surface area for heat dissipation. As the heatsink draws heat away from the motor, the cooling fan moves air across the fins to help maintain more controlled operating temperatures.
This is a useful upgrade for racing, off-road bashing, repeated acceleration, speed runs, and warm-weather operation. It is designed for many common 1/8-scale motors, including compatible Castle Creations, Hobbywing, Dynamite, ARRMA, Tekin, and HPI applications. The silver anodized finish adds a clean, upgraded appearance to the motor area.

Fitment
Designed for many 1/8-scale RC vehicles, including:
- 1/8-scale buggies
- 1/8-scale truggies
- 1/8-scale monster trucks
- 1/8-scale on-road cars
- Select 1/10-scale monster trucks using 1/8-style motors

Compatible motor applications may include select:
- Castle Creations 2200kV motors
- Castle Creations 2650kV motors
- Hobbywing motors
- Dynamite motors
- ARRMA motor systems
- Tekin motors
- HPI motors
Fitment depends on the motor’s outside diameter, motor-can shape, wire location, and available clearance inside the chassis. Measure the motor and installation area before ordering. Aftermarket motors, motor mounts, chassis braces, gear covers, and relocated electronics may affect fitment.
Installation Notes
Disconnect the vehicle battery before beginning installation. Clip the heatsink around a clean and unobstructed section of the motor can. Confirm that it sits securely and does not interfere with the motor wires, sensor cable, pinion gear, spur gear, driveshaft, or surrounding electronics.
Connect the fan to a regulated DC power source supplying no less than 5V and no more than 6V. Before powering the fan from an ESC or receiver, confirm that the selected connection can provide enough auxiliary current for the additional cooling fan.
Route the fan wire away from gears, driveshafts, suspension components, and other moving parts. Secure loose wiring before operating the vehicle. Do not connect the fan directly to a voltage source exceeding 6V.
NOTE: All heatsink cooling fans, unless specified otherwise, are designed to be powered by DC voltage only between 5.0V and no more than 6.0V MAXIMUM! If you choose to power our cooling fans with voltage exceeding 6.0V you are doing so at your own risk! Please make sure that your power source (battery pack, receiver, etc.) is able to supply consistent voltage no lower than 5.0V and no higher than 6.0V. If powering from an ESC, check with the ESC manufacturer to make sure if your ESC is capable of providing enough auxiliary power to handle the added load of extra cooling fans; some ESCs that have built-in fans may not be able to reliably power any additional cooling fans.
