Kyosho SXW001 Carbon Battery Holder Scorpion XXL

This is Kyosho's carbon battery holder for the Scorpion XXL VE, sold as an option part.

The battery holder secures the pack to the chassis, and on a large electric buggy that job matters more than it sounds. The battery is one of the heaviest single items on the car, and if it can shift even slightly under braking, cornering or a hard landing, that mass moves with it. The result is a car whose balance changes from corner to corner in ways that are almost impossible to diagnose as a setup problem, because the setup is not what is changing.

Carbon over the standard holder buys stiffness at very low weight. A holder that flexes lets the pack move despite being clamped, so the rigidity is doing real work rather than just looking the part. Taking weight off the top of the chassis also lowers the centre of gravity slightly, which helps a tall heavy buggy resist traction rolling.

Kyosho lists this as an option part for the Scorpion XXL VE and the B-XXL VE. It fits the standard mounting points without modification.
