Kyosho TF111 Center Shaft TF-5 Stallion

This is the centre shaft for the Kyosho TF-5 Stallion touring car.

On a shaft-driven four-wheel-drive touring car the centre shaft runs the length of the chassis and carries all of the drive from the motor to the front and rear differentials. It turns at high speed continuously, which makes it one of the few parts on the car that is under load every single moment the car is moving.

Because it spins so fast, straightness matters enormously. A shaft that has been bent in a crash sets up a vibration that you feel through the whole chassis, and that vibration works its way into bearings and diff outdrives, wearing them prematurely. It also costs efficiency directly, which on an electric touring car shows up as reduced runtime and a motor running hotter than it should.

This is the genuine Kyosho part at the correct length, so driveline geometry stays as designed. Kyosho lists it as a standard rather than optional part for the TF-5 Stallion specifically, not the base TF-5, so confirm which car you have.
