Powerhobby 1/5 Aluminum HeatSink w/Twin Turbo High-Speed Cooling Fans

Description

Help manage motor temperatures in your large-scale RC vehicle with the PowerHobby Aluminum Dual High-Speed Motor Cooling System. Designed for cylindrical motors measuring approximately 55–58mm in diameter, this cooling upgrade combines a durable aluminum motor mount with two powerful 40mm high-speed cooling fans.

The twin-fan configuration directs increased airflow across the motor can to help reduce heat buildup during long driving sessions, repeated acceleration, racing, aggressive off-road bashing, and other demanding applications. Improved airflow can help the motor operate at a more controlled temperature and maintain more consistent performance under heavy loads.

The aluminum motor mount wraps securely around the motor can, while the aluminum fan covers help protect the fan blades from light debris and accidental contact. Both fans connect through the included JST Y-splitter, allowing them to be powered through a single receiver-style connector.

With its blue aluminum finish, this cooling system adds a clean custom appearance while providing a practical upgrade for compatible 1/5-scale and other large-format electric RC vehicles.

Fitment

This is a universal-fit cooling system for electric RC vehicles equipped with a cylindrical motor measuring approximately 55–58mm in outside diameter.

Potential applications include:

  • 1/5-scale electric RC buggies
  • 1/5-scale monster trucks
  • 1/5-scale on-road vehicles
  • Large-scale brushless RC vehicles
  • High-powered custom builds
  • Speed-run vehicles
  • Large-scale electric conversions

Fitment is determined primarily by the outside diameter of the motor and the available clearance inside the chassis. Before ordering, measure the motor can and confirm that the vehicle has enough space for the aluminum mount, both 40mm fans, fan covers, wiring, and mounting hardware.

Also confirm that your receiver, BEC, or regulated auxiliary power source can provide between 6V and 8.4V.

Installation Notes

Disconnect the vehicle battery before beginning installation. Position the aluminum mount around a clean and unobstructed section of the motor can, then tighten the mounting hardware evenly until the assembly is secure.

Make sure the mount cannot rotate or slide during operation. Keep the fans, covers, screws, and wiring away from the motor shaft, pinion gear, spur gear, driveshafts, suspension components, and other moving parts.

Route and secure the wiring before operating the vehicle. Connect the receiver-style plug to a compatible open receiver channel, external BEC, or regulated power source supplying between 6V and 8.4V.

Verify the connector polarity, voltage, and available current before applying power. Do not connect the cooling fans directly to a power source exceeding 8.4V.
