Description

The PowerHobby Aluminum Motor Heatsink with Cooling Fan is designed to help control motor temperatures in compatible 1/8-scale RC vehicles and large 1/10-scale monster trucks.

The aluminum heatsink clips around the motor can and features multiple cooling fins that increase the available surface area for heat dissipation. The attached cooling fan directs additional airflow across the motor during extended runs and demanding driving conditions.

The fan uses a standard 2-pin receiver plug and must be powered by a regulated 5–6V DC source.

Verify the motor-can diameter, heatsink clearance, chassis space, connector compatibility, and receiver output voltage before purchasing.

Installation Note

Clip the aluminum heatsink securely around a clean section of the motor can. Make sure the assembly cannot rotate or contact the pinion gear, spur gear, motor shaft, driveshafts, or other moving components.

Connect the fan to a compatible receiver channel or regulated power source supplying no less than 5V and no more than 6V DC.

Confirm that the ESC or receiver can provide enough auxiliary current for the additional cooling fan. Confirm connector polarity before applying power. Do not connect the fan directly to a 2S, 3S, or higher-voltage LiPo battery.
